December Sunday Yoga for All
At this time of year we seek warmth , nourishment and rejuvenation. We have been experiencing the cold and dry qualities of vata, and now, as the cold deepens and damp rain and snow appear, we begin to notice the qualities of kapha emerge. Our practices in winter can help us to balance the qualities of cold with warmth, heaviness with lightness of spirit, stagnation with circulation, and dullness with inspiration. When these qualities become more optimally balanced, life becomes replenishing and strengthening. There is a sense of enthusiasm and comfort that the darkness of winter brings. This month, Sunday Yoga for all will include healing somatic movements to open and lubricate the body, stillness and rest to nurture the mind, and deep rest to calm and support the nervous system.
