Meditation
Neelakantha Meditation, as taught in Blue Throat Yoga, is a simple and elegant practice that anyone can learn. The practice has its roots in the ancient teachings of Kashmir, in India, but is specifically designed to serve our every day lives. Neelakantha Meditation is for householders living, working, creating, in the world.
The practice is governed by the principle of effortlessness, and brings about transformation, healing, and benevolence. Neelakantha Meditation permits our awareness to shift from the surface structures of reality towards the deeper structures of mind, eventually accessing deep stillness, clarity, and wisdom from within. It is a practice, done twice daily, and it yields profound cumulative benefits to the mind, body and nervous system. The practice serves to transform limited identity and assessment of life by moving attention to one’s own deep inner resources of power, intelligence and life force.
It does not involve concentration, controlling the mind, or other forms of effortful contortions of awareness. It does not require that you have any particular beliefs, any previous study or specific background in order to learn it and practice it with great benefit. Even those who have had difficulty meditating in the past are surprised at how easily and deeply they can meditate after receiving formal instruction into Neelakantha Meditation.
By regularly allowing awareness to steep into the deepest structures of the vibrating silence within, we discover that we can access and settle into more authentic and healthy life patterns as part of a natural and evolutionary movement toward higher and higher states of conscious living.
Benefits of Neelakantha Meditation:
- Healing rejuvenation of body and mind
- Stress relief
- Increased creativity, ease, efficacy, and compassion in all areas of life
- Deepened sense of connection, fulfillment, and meaningfulness
Neelakantha Meditation is a living practice, learned through a 2 day process of personal, formal instruction. These 2 days of instruction involve a 2 hour session where you learn your practice individually with Natalie. Then, we meet again in small groups for the Day 2 Teachings where you receive important understandings about your practice and what to expect, in order to prepare for the journey of establishing a regular, self-sufficient practice of daily meditation.
In addition to beginning your practice in this 2 day process, you will receive regular ongoing support from Natalie in the form of group meditations and access to any future Day 2 Teachings free of charge.
As part of your tuition for initiation into Neelakantha Meditation you’ll also receive 18 + months of online support through Blue Throat Yoga, including access to the online library of recordings of past support calls both with Prof. Paul Muller-Ortega, PhD, the founder of Blue Throat Yoga, as well as access to live calls in the future. There’s also an audio FAQ section, and recordings of key teachings to support your practice, and much more.
